Trolley tours begin at My Just Desserts, in the historic Simeon Ryder Building. Dating to 1845, the building served as a courthouse during the 1800s and saw cases tried by the young attorney from Springfield, Abraham Lincoln. The evening begins in the second floor meeting room, where ghost hunting tools are active and orbs are abundant.
Tours include a three-hour trolley jaunt to some of Alton’s most sinister haunts…
- For the first time on any haunted tour we will visit the Stratford Hotel!! This once majestic hotel, built in 1909, has set vacant for many years. We'll visit the Hemingwayesque Hilltop Room in search of lingering spirits.
- We'll also return to the very eerie Milton School!! The scene of a tragic murder, this site begs the question - can a haunted location be too scary?
- As always, our last stop will be the enigmatic McPike Mansion. Sitting vacant, aside from its ghostly inhabitants, this historic dwelling is the epitome of a haunted house. Join in a dark room session in the vaulted wine cellar – where many elemental spirits reside.
PLEASE NOTE: ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28 WE WILL SUBSTITUTE THE ALTON CITY CEMETERY FOR THE MILTON SCHOOL. (MILTON SCHOOL HOSTS A HALLOWEEN PARTY ON OCTOBER 28.)
Ghost hunters are encouraged to bring cameras and ghost hunting equipment.
